Welcome to the Trails Forever volunteer page!

The Trails Forever program allows individuals and groups to take part the trail rehabilitation and trail maintenance work in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Trails Forever volunteers do a variety of important work and are a vital part of the Trails Forever program.

The links below provide important information about the Trails Forever program, current projects and the application process to become a Trails Forever volunteer. If you would like to volunteer for Trails Forever, please read over the "Trails Forever Program Information" page and check the "Current Projects" page to see if there is a volunteer opportunity you are interested in.

Thanks to generous support from the ASLAN foundation, Friends of the Smokies, and the hard work of Park staff and numerous volunteers, the 2008 pilot phase of the Trails Forever program was a success. The 2008 Trails Forever crew fully rehabilitated the Jakes Creek and Baskins Creek trails. Trails Forever also made major improvements to the Ramsey Cascades and Forney Ridge trails, both of which will receive additional attention during the 2009 Trails Forever season. Trails Forever plans to work on several trails during 2009 and will be seeking volunteers to help out on these projects. More information, including project locations, start dates and application information will be available soon.
